As you know, this is an exciting and challenging time for sport and exercise medicine (SEM) in the UK with the recent recognition of SEM as a medical specialty by the UK Department of Health. The conference is being delivered through Nova International (who organise and deliver all UK Great Runs) and has the support of UK Sport, UK Athletics and BUPA with information of the event having been sent to international Athletics Associations, Olympic Committees and Sport and Exercise Medicine Organisations throughout the world. The conference has separate half day sessions on running, jumping and throwing. CME approval is being sought and UK Athletics has awarded the event 10 coaching points. A wide range of medical and healthcare professional organisations have agreed to post iinformation on their websites.
