This sounds like a case I mentioned in Chapter 3 of 'Disabled We Stand'
(1981 - available in Leeds online archive) where I described 'a case brought
before a German court. A woman who had been on a package tour sued the
travel firm who had organised her trip, because they had booked her into a
hotel at which a number of people with disabilities were staying - which,
she claimed, had spoiled her holiday....she won her case.'

 Unfortunately, I didn't give a reference, and I can't now remember where
I'd
 encountered the story.

It does seem more likely that someone would sue over a spoiled holiday than
over a spoiled meal. Perhaps that's why your researches couldn't turn
 anything up.

But it also strikes me as possible that we have both encountered a
disability myth, like the idea that 'handicapped' derives from 'cap in
hand', with a bit of national stereotyping thrown in to make it seem
 plausible.

Do let me know if you turn up anything further.

 Allan Sutherland
