You might like to know that there are currently a pair of robots on display as part of the Welsh Pavilion in the Venice Biennale 2005. There are made by an artist called Paul Granjon. The work consists of two autonomous wheeled robots fitted with nylon genital organs, one male and one female. They are programmed to explore their environment, occasionally entering a "in heat" mode, where they will try and locate a partner in the same state. If a partner is located, the robots will attempt to mate. More info, including photos at: http://www.zprod.org/zLab/sexedRobots.html The show opened on June 9th and also features non-robotic work by artists Peter Finnemore, Laura Ford and bedwyr Williams.
