Cliona, it will probably be easier to mail to the whole list and let people delete if they're not interested.   We've tried a similar approach this year when we introduced PDP to the MSc in Computing and it worked really well (despite initial sceptism from students!).      Ours came from Lin Norton at Liverpool Hope (we made sure full credit was given to Lin and her colleagues of course!).    I can contact Lin and ask if she's happy for me to circulate to this list if that would be of interest to people?

HI Patricia,

We have a reflective self-assessment sheet that was developed by Physical Geography here, but is now used on a variety of courses.  Essentially the student has to reflect on their grammar, spelling, how they addressed the question, etc., and grade their performance.  The tutor also marks the sheet so that a comparison of the tutor's opinion can be made with that of the student.  The reverse of the sheet has information on the standard of work getting a I, 2.1, etc, some tick box feedback (saves lecturers writing 'you must improve your referencing' a hundred times), and space for individual feedback.  Students are required to hand this sheet in with every assignment, and it is returned to them with the essay.  Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but let me know if you'd like a copy.

Cheers,

Cliona

Subject: Reflection on revision and assessment strategies

Dear colleagues

I have been asked by one of our faculties to look into existing good practice in resources relating to reflection on revision and assessment strategies as part of PDP. I seem to be drawing a blank though as pretty much everything seems to be focussed on broader semester or end of year reviews. I’d appreciate any help and advice that you can offer

Many thanks in advance

Patricia
