Research/Teaching Assistant in Socio-Cultural Studies of Sport

The School of Sport and Outdoor Studies at St Martin's College, Lancaster
(UK) is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to teach and support
the expansion of Sport Studies in the undergraduate academic portfolio.
Academic expertise and practical experience in sport history and/or sport
sociology is welcomed, along with a broad interest and involvement in sport.
The post provides an opportunity to engage in curriculum development within
a range of programmes in a dynamic and growing School.

The post involves helping module leaders with seminars and possibly lectures
in areas appropriate to the expertise of the successful candidate. The post
holder will also be expected to undertake research and may already be
registered for a research degree at another institution. There will also be
regular opportunities to undertake staff development/training in both
research and teaching skills. The post would suit someone looking to develop
their teaching and research skills for a career in higher education.
