There are a couple of spaces left for this conference, but we're
particularly keen to involve postgraduates, so please pass this on to any

ALTERNATIVE ECONOMIC SPACES: NEW POLITICAL STORIES
Conference, Hull University, July 11-13, 2005

Keynote address : J.K. Gibson-Graham.

Other confirmed speakers include : John Paul Jones III, Roger Lee, Andrew
Leyshon, Ulf Strohmayer, Nigel Thrift

We are expecting around 40 participants for what promises to be a
stimulating event. There are still a couple of places available for papers
and participants and we ESPECIALLY want postgraduates to take advantage of
the conference fee rebates available (thanks to the Political Geography
Research Group).


Five paper sessions are planned, as well as the keynote address and panels:

Session 1: Alternative geographies of agriculture & food;
Session 2: Alternative financial spaces and the city;
Session 3: Rethinking spaces of innovation & regional
development;
Session 4: Livelihoods, communities and economic diversity;
Session 5: Alternative spaces of politics.

If you would like to attend, please complete the registration form and
send your conference fee of £45 (£25 postgraduates and unwaged) to Andrew
Jonas at the address indicated. Forms (and accommodation details) can be
