I know about the Gallican / Hebrew (RC/ Protestant) split in the numbering of the Pss, but was surprised to note ambivalence in the numbering of Pss even within the modern Catholic usage... : our parish mass leaflet, which has the readings in both Spanish and English, gives the RSV numbers for the English renderings -- and the Vulgate numbers for the Spanish translation! Do modern catholic spanish psalters thus follow the old numbering? Is there a reason?Respondeo:
