***APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING*** “Preparing for Promotion – personal development planning for information professionals” Thursday 5th May in the National Library, Edinburgh. Speakers include Martyn Wade, National Librarian, Helen Ross, motivational consultant, Anne Middlemiss, Training and Development Manager, Glasgow Metropolitan College and Pauline Scott, Head of Personnel at the NLS. Liz McPartlin from the Career Development Group (Scotland) will chair the day. Our seminar features presentations on confidence building and self esteem, advice on making the most of your skills and experience to impress the interview panel, building presentations for interview situations and differing approaches to internal and external promotion interviews. Experts will be on hand all day for informal discussion and advice. The seminar is suitable for anyone considering a move to middle or senior management and CILIPS is pleased to acknowledge the assistance of the Carer Development Group (Scottish Division) in the organisation of this event. Seminar attendance costs £50 for CILIPS members and £75 for non-members to include refreshments, lunch, seminar pack and certificate of attendance for revalidation purposes.
