[Posted by NEMLAC on behalf of Seven Stories, the Centre for Children's Books]

Children's Literature Consortium Development Project.

Submissions are invited from appropriately qualified individuals/organisations interested in developing a brief for a new Consortium of cultural organisations.

Established in partnership between the Arts Council England and Seven Stories, the Centre for Children's Books in 2004, the Consortium comprises museums, galleries and libraries committed to using original artwork and manuscripts from children's literature in displays and exhibitions. These venues are keen to share knowledge of their collections, share educational expertise and tour exhibitions. The Children's Literature Consortium, working with Tyne and Wear Museums as leader of the North East Regional Museums Hub has been awarded a Subject Specialist Network Exploratory Grant from MLA as part of Renaissance in the Regions programme, and is seeking a dynamic professional to carry out consultancy within the Consortium and produce a forward plan to support further funding applications. For an informal discussion and/or further information about this project please contact Gillian Strachan, Exhibitions Officer, Seven Stories, the Centre for Children's Books, Unit 4 Terrace Level, St Peter's Marina, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 1TZ on 0191 276 4289. Closing date for submission: 25th March 2005. Interviews will take place on 5th April 2005. Project must be completed by 30th June 2005.

Project supported by Seven Stories, the Centre for Children's Books, Tyne & Wear Museums, Arts Council England, MLA
