Published by Arnold ISBN 0340808128 - £17.99 That and the BMJ Books How to Read a Paper give you some examples of classifying papers For qualitative Papers the National Centre for Social Research with the Cabinet Office produced a detailed review of how to assess evidence in qualitative research.
