UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON Department of Epidemiology and Public Health MSc/PhD FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES: SOCIAL EPIDEMIOLOGY TRAINING FELLOWSHIPS – Job Ref 230 The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health invites applications for PhD students, beginning in October 2005. Applicants should have (or expect to obtain) a first or upper second class degree in an appropriate subject. Two studentships are available for the coming academic year, each providing funding for the one year MSc in Health and Society: Social Epidemiology, followed by three years for graduate research leading to a PhD. The establishment of these fellowships reflects the next step in the department’s commitment to provide a coherent teaching, research and policy-influencing platform for the future of social epidemiology. The first year will be devoted to studying for an MSc in Health and Society: Social Epidemiology. During the year, however, each fellow will be linked to, and expected to develop their research ideas with, researchers in the group funding their fellowship. The stipend will be £12,500 pa in year one, rising incrementally to £13,700 in year four.
