Apologies for cross posting - please respond directly to contact indicated below. ****************************** Queen Mary, University of London Department of Geography Two Research Fellows Global Cities at Work: Migrant Labour in Low Paid Employment in London Applications are invited for two Research Fellow posts to work on a project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council examining the role and experiences of migrant workers in low-paid employment in London and the importance of their labour to global cities. You should have a postgraduate degree (MA/MSc or PhD) in Geography or a related field. Knowledge and experience in using qualitative research techniques (including semi-structured interviewing) are important. The posts are available from 1 May 2005 to 30 June 2007. They involve working on all aspects of this project and will include extended periods of fieldwork in London. Salary £19, 460 - £21.640 on the RA1A scale, depending on qualifications and experience. Both posts will also include an additional London allowance of £2,134. The posts will be based at the Department of Geography at Queen Mary which was graded 5A in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise. The department has an international reputation for theoretically-informed, empirically-grounded and politically-engaged research.
