Hello Jim,
yes, I am still with you. And the book's not out - I seriously
underestimated the time it would take me to add a comparative chapter,
and then was persuaded to guest edit a journal special issue, organise a
conference and contribute a chapter to a general history of Eastern
Christianity...and the dog ate my homework... thank God I have an
understanding editor.
The book is actually entitled: 'Double-belief' in Russia: Popular
Faith and the Making of an Academic Myth, and I have set aside
February to finally finish the problematic chapter. If you want to read
the manuscript, please contact me off list and I'd be happy to zip and
email - comments from a 'westerner' with an interest in this area would
be very useful.

forthcoming
book, which was supposed to appear last year: Popular Religion in
Russia. Are you
still with us, Stella? Or does anybody else know whether her book
