The Contract Researchers and Teachers Forum
The Royal Geographical Society and Intitute of British Geographers

ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2005 BURSARY SCHEME

The Contract Researchers and Teachers Forum exists to support
geographers holding fixed term contracts in all fields of human and
social geography. The main activity of the CRTF is to disburse its'
funds to support geographers on fixed term contracts. We are now
inviting applications to access funds in 2005.

We operate two schemes.

(1) Annual Conference Scheme

This bursary will fund one contract research or teaching staff member to
attend the 2005 RGS-IBG conference in London. Preference will be given
to fixed term staff based in the UK and unable to access resources
through their institution, although consideration will be given to all
reasonable applications.

We particularly welcome applications from people returning to the
academic world following career breaks.

Applications involve writing a letter to the Awards Officer (Paul
Benneworth)requesting the funds, and explaining the circumstances of the
applicant.

The deadline for applying for this award is 31st March 2005.

(2) Conference support scheme.

The CRTF intends to make four awards of fifty pounds to help with
attendance to any conference with a geographical flavour.

Consideration will be given to all reasonable applications.

Applications involve notifying the Awards Officer (Paul Benneworth) of
the title of the conference and the current position of the applicant.

There are a series of rolling deadlines for this scheme through the
year.

All decisions will be made within 6 weeks of the deadlines.

Further details are available from, and applications can be made direct
