GENERAL INFORMATION
Within the Parallel and Distributed Systems group, research on
distributed agent systems is conducted within the research program CABS
(Collective Agent Based Systems). This research aims at the design and
implementation of robust and cooperative methods for systems that have a
significant degree of autonomy.

An important topic of this research is the development of robust
cooperative planning methods that can be used in open dynamic
environments where disturbances of plans will occur regularly. At this
moment four PhD students, a research assistant and three staff members
are working in this field. Two more PhD students will join shortly. More

JOB-INFORMATION
As post doc researcher you will mainly have the following tasks:
-    conduct research in the area of cooperative planning systems with a 
focus on robustness and auction systems, and
-    supervise PhD students in this field.


REQUIREMENTS
You have a PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Artificial
Intelligence or a related discipline. You have general and special
knowledge on algorithmics, and distributed (agent) systems. You also
have experience with implementing algorithms and empirical methods for
performance evaluation of algorithms and programs.

You can prove your experience with scientific research in this area,
preferably from internationally published articles. You have shown to be
able to build an (inter)national network of scientific contacts, and
contacts with companies and you have good writing and verbal properties.


EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
We offer a post for three year subject to the job scheme of the Dutch
Universities (CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten). The salary for full-time
post doc researchers ranges from ˆ 2179, - to ˆ 3453, - per month
depending on qualifications and experience.
