Apologies for cross posting Designs on eLearning 14, 15, 16 September 2005 University of the Arts, London Call for papers Designs on eLearning, the inaugural international conference in the use of technology for teaching and learning in Art, Design and Communication will be held at the University of the Arts, London between 14 and 16 September 2005. The conference aims to cast light on established practice in the field, on innovations in teaching and learning with technology, on the challenges and successes presented by the visual nature of our discipline, and on the benefits of online and blended learning. Conference Themes include 1. Balancing acts: traditional practices and technologies in Art, Design and Communication 2. Reflective practice in eLearning 3. The role of Virtual Learning Environments in Art, Design and Communication 4. Designing for change in institutions 5. The conference Review Committee will make a decision in April based on the abstract whether to proceed to full papers. The submission deadline for the full paper will be 15 July 2005. The abstract should consist of a description of the proposed paper including reference to the problem, methodology and conclusions of the work described. The abstract should not exceed 300 words in length. Short Papers Designs on eLearning invites the submission of abstracts for consideration for short papers lasting 15 minutes with a short discussion to follow. The abstract should consist of a description of the proposed short paper including reference to the problem, methodology and conclusions of the work described. The abstract should not exceed 300 words in length. Posters There will be a limited space available for the display of information relating to work in progress, ongoing projects and research findings relating to the use of computers in teaching and learning in art, design and communication. The Designs on eLearning Committee will consider abstracts of no more than 300 words for proposed posters.
