The Arts Catalyst SymbioticA Symposium on Biotech Art

Saturday 2 April 2005, 2 - 5 p.m.

Join the participants of the Arts Catalyst & SymbioticA Biotech Art Workshop
for a public discussion of the issues, ethics and aesthetics of bioart and
biotech research.

Participants include Oron Catts and Gary Cass of SymbioticA, and Brandon
Ballengee,  Heather Barnett, Anne Bean, Jenny Boulboulle, Franko B, Laura
Cinti, Wim Delvoye, Tony Dunn, Ju Gosling, Simon Gould, Andy Gracie, Antony
Hall, Jens Hauser, Verena Kaminarz, Jose Marchesi, Sana Murrani, Jane
Prophet, Paula Roush, Jill Scott, Hege Tapio.

Arts Catalyst, the UK based science-art agency, are curating a week of
biotech workshops for artists, led by the artist Oron Catts and Gary Cass of
SymbioticA: The Art & Science Collaborative Studio, School of Anatomy &
Human Biology, The University of Western Australia. The workshops aim is to
introduce artists to the practical and theoretical issues of biotechnology,
genomics, and biotech art.

Arts Catalyst & SymbioticA's Biotech Art Workshop was facilitated by the
Guy's King's & St Thomas' School of Biomedical Sciences (King's College
London) and The Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret.
