Promoting the Social Inclusion of Young People: The Role of Faith Communities

 

Through a research grant from the Big Lottery Fund, the Churches’ Regional Commission in the North East and the Durham University began work in May 2005 on a participatory action research project seeking to explore the role of faith communities in promoting the social inclusion of young people. One researcher is currently in post, and we are seeking a second researcher. The researcher appointed should have experience in social scientific research methods, especially qualitative research, and in work with young people and  will need to demonstrate a capacity to make constructive research relationships in the context of a wide range of different faith communities.
