Jill Brookes

30 July 2005 is the final day when Jill Brookes administers SEDA. For nearly twenty five years Jill has been responsible for administering SEDA (and its predecessor's) range of staff and educational development activities. She established a first class team of administrators who have been key participants in SEDA's growth and success.

Jill has supported, encouraged and enabled numbers of SEDA Co-Chairs, Committee Chairs and Members to conduct and develop SEDA's work over decades of change and challenge in the Higher Education sector.

Jill's expertise, professionalism and spirit of collaboration and cooperation have enabled SEDA to grow from the original dedicated group of staff and educational development pioneers to the national organisation it is today which is respected internationally as the principal body for promoting staff and educational development. Jill's administrative expertise and insights have enabled SEDA to be forward looking, dexterous and innovative in developing, embedding and disseminating high quality staff and educational development thinking and practice.

Over the whole period of her work with SEDA Jill has maintained an extraordinary capacity for tolerance and good humour; it's a great pity her laughter can't be bottled and brought out to lighten the more dour moments of some of our working lives.

Jill has worked tirelessly to ensure the seamless transfer of SEDA administration to the ACU. The really good news is that Jill will continue to be a part of SEDA, so this is not a message of farewell, but one, on behalf of all SEDA Members, of heartfelt thanks and appreciation for Jill's peerless contribution to SEDA and the sector which it serves.
