An Illustrated Lecture by Tim Procter, Access Team Project Leader at the National Railway Museum, York, UK
.

Saturday 15th October, 18.30h, Gibb Theatre.
Free ticketed event - 75 places available.   

The lecture will look at engineering drawings and drawing office practices
from the dawn of heavy engineering in the 18th century to the large-scale
drawing offices of the Big Four and BR, and will feature illustrations of
the drawings from the NRM's collections.

The lecture will be supported by  an exhibition  in the Luggage Van  in
Station Hall, where original designs from the drawing shops of Stephenson,
Hackworth, the Big Four and British Rail will be on display,  including
sketches taken at the Rainhill Trials and a design for a locomotive on skis.
Historic drawing instruments will form part of the exhibition, and our
experts from Collections will be on hand for information and discussion.
