One-Day Course in R University of Hertfordshire Wednesday 13th April 2005 R is a freely-available computer package for statistics used by professional statisticians. The command language used by R is very similar to that used by S-PLUS, and this course also acts as an introduction to the command language used by this package. R can carry out standard statistical analyses, and also has powerful facilities for users to create their own commands for non-standard analyses or for new statistical methods. Users of R frequently publish the code for their commands on the internet for others to use. The course will take place on the University of Hertfordshire's de Havilland campus, a new state-of-the-art facility housing the University's Business School. The main topics covered by the course are: *Obtaining the R package from the internet *Data entry and simple summary statistics *Basic statistical procedures *Obtaining and using commands designed by other researchers1 *Developing your own commands for non-standard analyses Venue: University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield Date: 13th April 2005 Course fee: £295 (includes teas/coffees and lunch) Discounts are available for those attending more that one course, research students, those on limited incomes, and University of Hertfordshire staff and students.
