I must enjoin you to read (if you do not already know) this gripping & moving report by Amitav Ghosh on the aftermath of the tsunami in the Andaman & Nicobar islands: it's not just an amassment of depressing facts but a journey into the immensity of loss; it finishes by implicitly asking questions about the nature of attachment, memory & identity.
