I have been seeing a fit, intelligent young man aged 26 who suffered
significant damage to his cornea 3 months ago as the result of an accident at work. He
can see only light and what he describes as reflections. He is under the care
of an ophthalmic surgeon who says it will take a year to see whether any
improvement will occur.

He was due to start an engineering degree.

He has gone into his shell and just sits around and does very little. Apart
from psychological help are there any programmes designed to help people with
monocular vision to cope better with their visual impairment.
