Tracie, The City and Ishihara Tests are both colour vision Tests. A Deutan colour deficiency or deuteranomaly is a deficiency in green sensitive parts of the register and is the most common inherited colour vision defect. I should imagine that somewhere in your department you will have the minimum standards required for entry to an electrical course so refer to those in the first instance and if required get the person in front of your Occupational Health Physician to make a decision. Please could someone advise? Regarding the city and the ishihara tests, what are these? Also, a diagnosis of deutan colour deficiency has been reported and I wondered what impact this would have for staff / student on an electrical course. I would instantly assume that this would be a concern as he would have to identify coulurs of wires etc??
