Two PhD studentships are available from late September 2005 in the group
of Prof Jonathan Tennyson (Department of Physics & Astronomy, University
College London).

1. An EPSRC Project Studentship is available as part of collaboration
"Dynamic imaging of matter at the attosecond and angstrom scale". The
student will perform electron molecule collision calculations on oriented
molecule to help model recollision events inside a short laser pulse.

2. A PhD position is available as part of the QUASAAR (QUAntitative
Spectroscopy for Atmospheric and Astrophysical Research) Marie Curie
Research Training Network (http://www.chem.uni-wuppertal.de/quasaar/).
The student will work on calculations of molecular spectra.

Applicants should have a good degree in physics, chemistry or a related
subject and an interest in computational applications of quantum
mechanics. The studentships are only available for nationals of the
European Union (the QUASAAR position is not open to UK
nationals/residents).

Informal enquiries should can be emailed to me.
Application forms can be downloaded from the group website
(http://www.tampa.phys.ucl.ac.uk/amp/) and should be returned directly to
me.
