Research Officer required (0.5 fte) for one year for study of maternity care.

A part time researcher is needed for the second year of a qualitative study investigating the maternity and postnatal care needs of UK-born Black Caribbean, Black African, Indian, Irish and Pakistani women. This national study is exploring perceptions of mothers, fathers and health care providers. Fieldwork is being undertaken at ten locations in London, Birmingham and Bradford. The position is available for one year and may be suitable for someone looking for a secondment to extend his or her research experience.

Applicants should have a good honours degree or equivalent professional qualification in an appropriate subject, plus research experience and/or training in research. You should have good writing skills and experience of undertaking interviews and focus groups and of analysis using qualitative methods. Due to the nature of the research we welcome applications from individuals who have experience of working with women from these minority groups.
