The Museum of the History of Science, Oxford, has opened a new special exhibition: 'Bye-bye blackboard ... from Einstein and others' Open till 18 September, Tuesday to Saturday, 12 to 4 pm; Sunday, 2 to 5 pm There is also a web version, with a link from www.mhs.ox.ac.uk. In case you're wondering where the history of science might be in this exhibition (there is some), there will, for example, be a lecture series in June on the history of cosmology from John North, David Hughes, John Heilbron and Joe Silk: they will be allowed to use only blackboard and chalk (details at www.mhs.ox.ac.uk/events/) Jim Bennett
