Breaking news ... President Bush flown to Washington hospital for emergency surgery. More to follow .... The White House has just confirmed that President George W Bush has been rushed to a Washington hospital for emergency surgery. Sources close to the President are hinting that Mr. Bush may have choked on a freedom fry he was eating during a cabinet meeting. The Heimlich manoeuvre apparently performed by Condoleezza Rice was unsuccessful and the President was airlifted by helicopter for treatment. Prime Minister Tony Blair has flown to Washington to be by the President's bedside while in Windsor the Queen and Prince Phillip will hold an all night vigil to pray for Mr Bush's speedy recovery.
