With less than 24 hours until polls close New Labour is showing a 6 point lead over the Conservatives, They are certain to form the next government.

When Tony Blair says, the Labour Party could lose todays general election if 1 in 10 supporters abandon the party, he is guilty of 'sexing up' the figures (see I didn't use the 'L' word, not yet anyway). The truth is that it would take a massive 1 in 4 deserters to even see a hung parliament, looking at the latest poll results this outcome is virtually impossible.

With the election a forgone conclusion, voting might appear to be even more pointless than usual. Well not this time!

Ordinarily this writer might applaud a decision not to vote. With virtually nothing of substance separating the parties policies a positive decision to abstain, or 'voter apathy' as it is called, in 'normal' times seems a perfectly reasonable act of protest to me.

But these are not normal times, this time there is a real difference, this time the party in front is headed by a war criminal. Is my language too Strong? Well not for the 100,000 Iraqis who have died since the beginning of this war based on lies.

If you decide to abstain then you will be supporting the obvious outcome of this election, as the historian Howard Zinn puts it “You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train”. Abstaining or worse, voting Labour, is to desire a large Blair majority.

So your options in this election are limited, this is not a choice between competing political parties - Labour will win! And if Tony Blair wins with a majority greater than 100 MP's, this election will forever be seen as a vindication of his warmongering.

Even those of you that buy into New Labours claims, that they can improve public services and beat global poverty despite signing up to a neo-liberal economic agenda, can vote anti-war and still get what you want.

What are you waiting for? Get out and vote - Just don't vote Labour, vote anti-war.
