Chair of Communication Studies The University of Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking to appoint a Chair in Communication Studies to enhance further the communication, cultural and media studies group in the School of Education, Communication & Language Sciences. The Chair will play a key role in the achievement of the research and teaching goals of the School. In particular the Chair will be expected to contribute, via strategic leadership and example, to the School’s aim of achieving the top rating in the next RAE. The Chair will also be expected to pursue external funding opportunities, to attract and supervise research students, and to contribute to the delivery and management of teaching programmes. All specialisms will be considered although we are particularly interested in strengthening the areas of communication and cultural theory and popular cultural studies, global media output and institutions, visual communication and cultures, and New Media.
