Please forward to postgraduate students… Call for papers - Meccsa's 2nd Postgraduate conference WHEN? 16 and 17 June, 2005 WHERE? Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies, Cardiff University. COST? None. The conference is free to attend. Building on the success of the conference held last September in Birmingham, the network is pleased to announce it is organising a second national two day forum for postgraduate students. The forum aims to debate contemporary issues in doctoral research, such as publishing, teaching, learning and employment issues. There promises to be lively debates and discussions with confirmed speakers including Professor Bob Franklin (Cardiff University), Professor Justin Lewis (Cardiff University), Dr Ernest Mathijs (University of Aberystwyth) and Professor Maire Messenger Davies (University of Ulster). The forum will also provide an opportunity for postgraduate students to present their own research, share their experiences, and gain feedback from other postgraduate students within the field of media, communication and cultural studies in an informal and supportive environment. The conference is free to attend, and pre and post social events will be organised for postgraduate students to maximise their networking time. If you are interested in either submitting a paper or attending the event, we welcome 250 word abstracts from postgraduate students on the topic of their research and/or the methodology/ies they are employing by no later than May 20 2005. Abstracts should be sent to Stephen Cushion at [log in to unmask] Meccsa Postgraduate aims MeCCSA, in conjunction with the Art, Design, Communication, Learning and Teaching Support Network, recently launched a postgraduate network.
