Many organisations that have invested in technology tools to share information are now adding a further strand to their knowledge management strategy, namely support for and facilitation of 'communities of practice' and other cross-boundary groups. This one day workshop will help you to identify the different types of communities that emerge in organisations; how they can be supported and encouraged to share knowledge and information in order to be able to contribute more effectively to the business strategies; the practical steps necessary to turn them into strategic assets for the organisation and how to evaluate the value they are contributing to the organisation. The day is highly interactive and includes time for the participants to share stories from their own experience, as well as hearing an in-depth case study from a visiting practitioner.
