Uncrushable silk... no ironing of course! Why should the Radio Times get
all the advertising revenue? Personally I wouldn't be interested in a
Smirnoff advert, but if this sort of insert helps to keep magazine
publication costs down, all the better.

Sue, if you find the insert offensive, please email the Update editor or
the CILIP marketing team directly for a response.

        Colleagues
Now I know what to wear for the weekend. A luxurious housegown I
think!

Hmm - does this conflict with or support the 'Faking it'
sterotype?

(& surely the point of uncrushable silk is obvious -
ideal when one's reclining in one's boudoir, hoping that the man with
the Milk Tray will inject (if that's the word I'm looking for) a little
excitement into one's humdrum librarian life)

                        Dear CILIP,

"A sumptuous selection of classic nightwear &
housegowns" just fluttered from my newly arrived copy of the Library &
Information Gazette. "Soft jersey cotton", "soft velour", "uncrushable
silk" ...... (and what would be the point of that, anyway?)

I can buy the Radio Times if I want to be
subjected to this stuff, guys. Adverts for Smirnoff I could take, but
this? Maybe we could all do with some courses on income generation?
