What about having talks with the unions and advising them about the
correct rate for the job etc. some advocacy and partnership working for
heavens sake.

Any one there listening BOB?

Maybe CILIP could pass on their recommendations to the relevant unions
to get them to take it up with the companies advertising jobs with lower
wages?
If the unions don't know a professional role is underpaid then how can
they fight for fair wages, if not for their current members then the new
ones they might be gaining.
It's been said many times it's not CILIP's role to fight companies on
pay but what about passing information to those who can/might be able to
make a difference?
