Don't forget that our July meeting is on Tuesday. Here's a reminder of the details. **************************************************************************** The E-learning Experience and Academic Liaison Date: Tuesday 12 July 2005 Time: 6 for 6.30 pm Venue: The Sekforde Arms, Sekforde Street, London EC1 (Map reference: http://digbig.com/3pmf) Speaker: Elizabeth Malone (Kingston University). Kingston University has made a heavy commitment to e-learning, adopting Blackboard for its virtual learning environment. SeSL (Sustainable e-Supported Learning) is the University's technique for encouraging e-learning by bringing together the 'wider course team': an opportunity for librarians to work alongside academics and users in the creation and development of learning tools, and to share skills and experience. Elizabeth will look at SeSL's origins and discuss its implications for the Library - in particular, its function as a means of facilitating academic liaison. Elizabeth Malone is Head of E-Strategy & Collection Management (Library Services) at Kingston University where she is involved in a range of e-learning initiatives. CILIP in London evening meetings are free and open to all with a professional interest in the topic. Refreshments will be available afterwards. As space is limited, please let us know if you are coming. Contact Phillip Powell at [log in to unmask] or on 020 7416 5345. EVERYONE WELCOME
