Liz - are you after a "good quote" or a "bad quote"? The one that springs to mind was from George Young, who was a Tory Housing Minister, who said that "the homeless are the sort of people you step over when you come out of the opera" in 1993.... Not that he's either famous (thankfully...) or that contemporary...

You may well be able to get something by getting in touch with the press/media people at Crisis - try http://www.crisis.org.uk/media/index.php - or Centrepoint - http://www.centrepoint.org.uk/main.asp?id=491

Cheers,

Tom.

Subject: quote by famous person about homelessness

Dear Colleagues

I am looking for a quote about homelessness by a famous person - a famous contemporary person if possible.  Any ideas about where to start?  I had a look at the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations without success.
