Electronic Resources Librarian

 

We are looking for an experienced, innovative librarian to join our team. Exeter Medical Library, where you will be based, has recently moved to purpose-built premises in the Peninsula Medical School and provides library and knowledge services to all locally-based NHS and PMS staff and students.

In this specialist post, working at the interface between printed and electronic resources, you will be responsible for:

* strategic development and maintenance of the library's website (and associated electronic resources) and of our pages on the local health community extranet;
* the local operation of the library management system, which is hosted by the
University of Exeter.

You should hold a postgraduate or degree qualification in Librarianship or Information Science. Experience of managing automated systems and ejournals, of cataloguing and web design is essential. You will also need to be a good communicator. Experience of working in NHS or academic libraries is desirable but not essential.

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £19,523 - £30,247 per annum (dependant on skills and experience)

Following agreement on the implementation of a new pay framework for the National Health Service, the pay terms and conditions of all NHS posts, with the exception of Doctors and Dentists will be subject to amendment to reflect the new arrangements with effect from
1st October 2004.

 

Band and salary are subject to final ratification under the Agenda for Change agreement.
