I may be going mad but i'm sure i heard a news item on the BBC1 Breakfast News
programme this morning. Sorry i didn't manage to catch it all but i was busily
sorting out all the stray cats/kittens i'm currently housing. I'm not sure
what it was about exactly but it looked like they were talking about a lack of
new librarians, i could be wrong.

So we are appreciated!!! Just not widely recognised, maybe we are on the cusp
of becoming the next big thing...... when we see Posh or Jordan or
whatshername-that-wears-belts-across-her-chest waving e-library or OVID pens
we will know for sure. Or maybe they could be seen wearing just the pens -
that could be a new library uniform as previously discussed on this list.
Maybe I have had too much coffee.

Afternoon all
Just thought you might like to hear this - I met a nurse (not from my own
Trust) at a social occasion & when the subject of jobs came up & she heard
mine, she said to a third party 'Oh, librarians are heroes!'
Nice to be appreciated!
