When I've done a similar thing, I took lots of copies of library handouts & examples of training materials etc, and had a display board behind the table, including pictures of recent acquisitions. (Pasting the "View larger picture" image from Bookfind or Amazon into a Word document, with shelfmark underneath, and printed in colour.) Then stood and tried to look friendly & approachable - and resorted to bribery with sweeties and NELH pens (as Brenda suggested) of course! Though I took mints with wrappers, in case anyone was going to fret about handwashing etc. I wrote down contact details if people looked at all interested, and followed up by email afterwards.
