Just a note to remind readers of the Book Cooperative service for disposal
of unwanted books and journals.

Since the demise of the British Library Booknet service, there has been no
central system whereby libraries can offer their disposals to other
libraries, other than one-off mail shots to mailing lists such as
Lis-Link.

The Book-Cooperative fills this gap by offering a simple database
system which is both searchable by author and keywords and browsable by
author or classification code.
As the database builds, monthly listings of new entries will be emailed to
all registered users. Books and journals for offer will remain on the
database for 6 months, or less if specified.

It is a web-based system where the donators can list their offers on our
database for free, and buyers pay a small nominal fee of £5 to unlock the
donator's identity. The donator and buyer are then free to arrange
transport and delivery between themselves.
