SELECTING ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS: A BEGINNER'S GUIDE 28 February 2006, London Those responsible for the selection, purchase, customisation and exploitation of electronic information resources need to develop new skill sets: including decision- making, analysing, influencing, negotiating or business understanding. The selection of electronic information products is a complex process. It is essential to understand why the information is needed and to have awareness of the full range of information resources available. It is equally important to be able to keep within restricted budgets and be confident enough to decide between similar resources. BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING This workshop is designed to assist participants to develop the skills and confidence needed to select electronic information resources in a structured and systematic way. Some practical sessions will be included. She was previously Head of Business Information at HSBC Bank, where she started the global service and was responsible for the procurement and exploitation of electronic resources.
