Include Electronic Services in a Registry
-----------------------------------------

The Information Environment Service Registry (IESR) team are holding a workshop on 18 January 2006 to explain how to include electronic resources in the Registry. The IESR (http://iesr.ac.uk) is a registry of collections and services that are available within the JISC Information Environment, and has been developed to make it easier for applications to discover resources that will help learners, teachers and researchers.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop will be useful for anyone who maintains an electronic resource and wants to make sure that users can get to it. It might be useful for people in these categories:

    * providers of electronic resources
    * those who manage information about electronic resources
    * anyone with a general interest in the description and promotion of these materials

Workshop Content:

Members of the IESR project team will describe how IESR content might be used, explain the help that is available for completing and managing descriptions, and provide hands-on training on how to use the data editing interface. There will also be a chance to feed your own requirements into the development plan for the IESR.

Further Information:

The workshop will be held in Manchester on 18 January between 11.00am and 4.00pm. Further information, a programme and booking form can be accessed from http://iesr.ac.uk/events/2006/01/18

The workshop is free to attend, but booking is essential.

Regards,

Amanda
