PLANNING AND DESIGNING EFFECTIVE E-LEARNING PROGRAMMES
24 January 2006, London

E-learning is an increasingly popular approach for delivering learning and teaching events and activities. There are many myths and debates surrounding the concept and its relevance to library and information workers.

BENEFITS OF ATTENDING
This workshop will provide a pragmatic guide to e-learning in library and information services. It will enable participants to decide whether or not it is for them, and it will enable them to design and implement successful e-learning activities and programmes.

By the end of the event participants will have:
·	understood the three main approaches to e-learning
·	understood theories of learning that underpin different approaches to e-learning
·	identified different approaches to planning and designing successful e-learning programmes and activities
·	evaluated a number of e-learning programmes

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This workshop is designed for library and information staff considering using e-learning as part of their user education or staff development strategies. No prior knowledge or experience of e-learning is required for this workshop.
