SEMINAR DETAILS

 

Budgeting and Financial Skills with Anne Poulson (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London) Thursday 10 November 2005 (6-8pm)

 

This seminar will cover the basic principles of budgeting and financial management. It is aimed at anyone who has not yet managed a large financial portfolio but who wishes to develop their skills in this area. Topics to be covered will include making sense of financial reporting systems, understanding how to manage different kinds of budgets and developing the area of income generation.

 

This seminar is being held as part of CDG's annual Management Seminar series 2005. The final seminar in the series is Freedom of Information with John Miller (Ministry of Defence) on Wednesday 7 December 2005 (6-8pm) Keeping up to date with legislation affecting the provision of information is becoming increasingly more important for librarians and information professionals. This seminar looks at the UK's Freedom of Information Act 2000, which came into force in January 2005, and outlines the mechanics of responding to requests.
