DESK RESEARCH SKILLS
6 October 2005, London

More and more library and information staff are being asked to carry out detailed desk research but have never had any formal training in the skills required to do the job well.
Desk research skills follow the traditional information handling skills learned by many during their formal training and/or on the job. Many may have carried out research for their own projects but others will have been thrown in at the deep end.
This workshop is designed for anybody in an information role who is required to undertake in-depth desk research and who would like to learn how to achieve the best results.

BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING
Participants will cover the core elements of the workshop which include:
* understanding the research brief
* research methodology
* identifying information sources
