NB - sent on behalf of Michelle Kirkwood - please direct all enquiries to her (details below) North Glasgow Division NHS Greater Glasgow Librarian for Nursing and Midwifery 37.5 hours, A & C Grade 6(pending Agenda for Change review) £21549.00 - £25212.00 (Ref No: 9751G) The North Glasgow Division is seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to lead the provision of library services to all nursing and midwifery staff within the Division. The division has approximately 5000 nursing and midwifery staff, and 5 libraries: Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Western Infirmary, Gartnavel General, Stobhill Hospital, and Beatson Oncology Centre. The Librarian for Nursing and Midwifery will be based at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary Library and eLearning Centre but will provide professional services across all hospitals and libraries within the division. You will be responsible for the provision of professional services to this distinct group such as Current Awareness Bulletins, Literature Searches, Information Skills Training, as well as proactively leading the development of resources and services. You will also be expected to work with nursing groups on the development of the Nursing and Midwifery website (www.ngt.org.uk/nursing_midwifery), training and research within the Division. The candidate as part of the Library Management team will work closely with other Library Managers in the continued development of the general Library Service in providing a cohesive quality service across the Division. Experience of health information management is desirable but not essential. Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year's general information service management experience, or experience of managing at least one aspect of a library service. It is essential that candidates can demonstrate good communication skills and leadership, and a proactive approach to service development.
