CoFHE YORKSHIRE AND HUMBERSIDE CIRCLE

AGM AND VISIT TO THE NATIONAL COAL MINING MUSEUM, WAKEFIELD

FRIDAY 8th July 2005





The National Coal Mining Museum is located on the site of an 18th century
colliery to the west of Wakefield.
The AGM will be held at 11.30 a.m. in the library study (CoFHE members
only).
Lunch is available from the café on site.
After lunch, at 12.40 p.m., you will have the opportunity to go down a real
coal mine, guided by local miners. You will be provided with a safety
helmet, battery and light. The temperature below ground is around 12(C (55
(F) so please wear warm clothing and sensible shoes. Numbers for the
underground tour are limited, so please book early!
After the tour we will divide into two groups to visit the library and look
round the museum.
The day will finish with tea in the library study at 4-4.30 p.m.
