Personal Knowledge Management: making it work for you

Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) is all about how you manage and develop your personal knowledge base to achieve your objectives. It’s a topic that has started appearing regularly in information and KM journals. The next City Information Group event is dedicated to PKM. Our first speaker, Stephanie Wheeler, a Research and KM consultant with over 10 years of experience, will introduce the concept and describe how it relates to information professionals in various roles. She will provide case studies, practical tools and checklists, so you can start applying any new PKM ideas the very next day at work!

Our second speaker is Mick Cope, a consultant and author, who will take you through practical ways to manage your Personal Capital. You will learn how to identify the value in your skills, knowledge, abilities, and your experience. Mick will focus on the need to value what you know, and the importance of what you do with that knowledge. He is MD of WizOz Ltd, a network organisation that seeks to help people and businesses optimise their potential. He has published several books including ‘Know your value? Value what you know’.
