Visual Awareness for staff in libraries and archives This workshop will identify some of the problems that blind and partially sighted people may experience when visiting a library or archive, and suggest potential solutions. It will demonstrate the general principles of guiding a blind or partially sighted user, and familiarize you with the various access technologies that may be used by them. Thursday 2 June 05, 9. 50 am - 4.00 pm RNIB Vocational College, Radmoor Road, Loughborough Cost: £45/£35 for volunteer organisations (including tea/coffee and lunch) Visual Awareness for staff in museums and galleries This one day workshop will enable you to identify some of the problems that blind and partially sighted people may experience when visiting a museum or gallery, and suggest potential solutions. It will demonstrate the general principles of guiding a blind or partially sighted visitor, of describing images or objects to them, and inviting them to touch objects in the museum.
