Papers presented and workshop sessions address various aspects of enabling all students to access learning, engage with the learning environment and communicate their own understanding, using a range of available technology. There will also be a commercial exhibition on the first day. The University of Southampton presents: An Assistive Technology Conference - >=< Balancing the Equation 5th - 6th September 2005 Southampton Accessibility for all is now at the forefront of thinking, and rapidly developing technology provides a range of opportunities to meet a diversity of needs. Here in Southampton, as in many other HE institutions, assistive technology provision continues to expand. With the development of a new Library Learning Centre, and enhanced assistive technology workstation clusters at our various campuses, Southampton University continues to be in the forefront of development in Assistive Technology provision and Learning Support. This conference comes at a time when many institutions are seeking to develop the service that they offer. It will provide a platform for Assistive Technologists and academics with an interest in the role of technology in learner support for students with disabilities or learning differences at various stages of their university experience.
